The grooming process for a cat is usually a nail trim then brush and then shave and sometimes a waterless bath. The lion cut is most popular by shaving just behind the head and to within two inches of the tail. This leaves a ball at the end of the tail. We can also do other cuts depending on how the cat behaves. Normally we do not shave legs due how difficult that region is to shave. If the cat is heavily matted it is easy to nick the skin because you have to gently shave under the matts to remove them. This can happen due to the cat’s movement and struggling with the grooming process. We make every effort to ensure your cat’s safety and the safety of the groomer. If at any time Pixie Willow’s staff feels that the process should end there will still be at least a $50.00 fee for attempting to groom the cat, at the owner’s risk.
We do not attempt to do feral cats unless fully sedated and with the permission of your local veterinarian. If you have more questions please call Darleen at (207) 831-9128.
